Finally had time to scan the negatives from New Zealand. Took about 250 photos with 25 I quite like. One in ten shots being ok isn’t too bad, much better than I’d get shooting digitally.

Christchurch: 4 Years On
It’s weird to think the Christchurch earthquake was four years ago back in 2011. It was one of those tragedies that was all over the news for a few weeks, then we moved on to the next tradedy du jour. The same can’t be said for Christchurch. Even after all this time, the city still looks like a building site. Decided to photograph the state its currently in, then revist in the future to see how the restoration has gone.
Wandering Around Wellington
Got the train down to Wellington yesterday. Spent most of today just wandering around looking for street art to photograph. Turns out my hostel is in the arty Boho area of Wellington so the walls were covered in gorgeous murals. Most of the photos are on my Zorki so you’ll have to wait until I get back from holiday before you get to see those. Here’s a few I took on the Ricoh.
Bay of Islands Dolphin Tour
Equine Shoot
Figured it was finally time to update this site after a week in New Zealand. Been too darn busy exploring the country and snapping away. Thanks to my big sis who I’m visiting, I ended up on a very fancy shoot on Saturday. The sort of shoot that’s fancy enough for Japanese business men to fly in by helicopter. My inner botanist loved it as most of the flora is unique to the island. Below are a few pictures from the day. The photo editing isn’t great as I had to do it using an app on my phone.
Liverpool Anti Fascism March
In response to the White Man March that was suppose to take place in Liverpool today, hundreds of anti fascists protesters took to the streets. Seemed to work as the White Man March lasted all of 30 seconds before police got involved and confined them to a parking lot. Figured I’d join in and took my Zorki 4K out, as I thought it’d be fun to use a communist built camera to photograph fascists. The picture quality isn’t great on some, not due to the camera but the iffy scanning by Max Spielmann. I’ve got an Epsom V600 coming next week so I’ll rescan them and upload some nicer versions when that arrives.
Also got a few on the digital cameras I took with me, a Ricoh GR as I love shooting with a 28mm lens and a Sony NEX 3 as I wanted a backup with 50mm lens.
Wander around Liverpool
Took my great uncle’s old Bronica into town to have the lenses serviced so figured I’d have a wander around town with my Ricoh GR. Got a few photos I’m rather happy with.
